The wedding of Abi and Chris took place at Thief Hall near Northallerton. This wedding venue has absolutely everything a Bride, Groom and guests could possibly want for and is a dream for any Yorkshire Wedding Photographer to work at. The owner and wedding coordinator Jessica was on hand from very early in the morning to assist and check that everyone was happy or if they needed anything. I arrived with my 2nd photographer Jacqueline around 9am as we were both booked for the whole day until the first dance. It was nice to work closely with a venue who cares so much about the photography as well as the actual wedding day. The wedding party stayed the night before the wedding in one of the large onsite cottages equipped with hot tubs. We used a hot tub for a fun pre wedding shot of the bride Abi with her female friends and family members. The Groom and his male friends and family were safely hidden in another cottage a few doors down and had great trouble doing their ties up, so much so they had to all follow a YouTube video! These are the kind of photos you hope for as a wedding photographer as they are candid and fun. With ties knotted and dresses on it was time to drive to the beautiful church a few minutes away. The light in the church was so pretty and there were lots of chances for stunning Bride and Groom portraits both in the church and afterwards in a wood close to Thief Hall. We used coloured smoke bombs for a dramatic effect and Abi brought a really cool white leather jacket to wear over her wedding gown. The speeches were absolutely hilarious, the best man kept making jokes and telling the funniest stories about Chris the groom, we were all crying with laughter! This wedding was special for me too as I used to live next door to Chris and his family when he was 11 so I got to photograph all his family on the happiest of days, truly wonderful wedding and loveliest of people.
